About the Artist.

Rafika Hassan is a Malaysian jewellery artist based in Germany. Her practice is informed by a background in law, a lifelong engagement with abstract art, and a sensitivity to cultural nuance shaped by migration and lived experience across borders.

Working primarily with Japanese glass beads, silver, and textile elements, Rafika approaches jewellery as a form of wearable abstraction. Her process is intuitive and slow, favouring repetition, structure, and material dialogue over decorative excess.

Rather than producing for volume or trend, her work develops organically as a personal archive - marking moments, questions, and emotional landscapes through form. Each piece reflects a commitment to craft, patience, and conceptual clarity.
